Coe Percussion offers complete custom built marimbas and xylophones designed to meet each individual's needs.  We offer both "Concert Series" and "Practice Series" marimbas,  Xylophones And Metal Frame instruments. Marimba sizes range from Four and One Third (low A)  to full Five octave instruments.  We offer a 3.5 and a 4.0 octave Xylophone.  All bars on our marimbas are Honduras Rosewood.    All Xylophones are Honduras Rosewood, however other woods are available upon request. (such as Cocobolo used on the old Deagan Klyposerus instruments)

We are always experimenting with unique and new wood types, so don't hesitate to inquire.

WARRANTY:  Every new instrument which leaves our facility is warranted against defects in materials and workmanship for a period of one year.  In addition, the warranty covers free bar replacement for any reason during the first year of ownership, and free re-tuning of the bars during the first two years of ownership.  We only ask for you to cover freight charges in sending the bars back to us.

NEW!!  We now offer custom made marimba and xylophone covers.  More information to come soon.  (you can see our covers by clicking here.)

Concert Marimbas:

All tone bars on the concert instruments are hand selected Honduras Rosewood.  Marimba bars are "triple tuned" and are of the finest quality.  (Xylophone bars are "Quint Tuned")   Each bar is painstakingly  hand crafted for an extremely smooth surface with rounded edges.  Rounded edges and a smooth playing surface prolong the life of the yarn mallets used in playing the instrument.   Each bar is carefully selected based upon grain structure of the wood, color, and most importantly ring-time and tone.  Bars are finished in multiple coats of a special tung oil that does not hinder the resonance of the bar, while at the same time protecting the bar from all of the elements.

Resonator materials can include Brass highly polished to a "mirror" finish or left plain, Aluminum powder-coated in your choice of color, and Synthetic Tubing in your choice of color.  Materials will be suited to meet your likes/dislikes, needs, and monetary availability.

NEW!! All instruments have available a hydraulic height-adjustable frame.  The frame looks nearly identical to the non-height adjustable versions,  only hydraulic cylinders are built-in to the endpieces and attach directly to the casters.  The instrument is adjusted by the turn of a single hand-crank, for a nearly effortless height adjustment throughout a range of 7 inches.  We will be updating our web-site with pictures and more details on the height-adjustable frames soon.  If you download our VIDEO, you can see the height adjustment system in action now.

Practice Marimbas:

The Coe Practice Marimbas offer the student musician an excellent alternative to higher priced instruments, while at the same time creating an investment for the future. The bars are made from Honduras Rosewood and are FULL SIZED, the exact dimensions as our concert series . Many other student or 'practice model' instruments do not have full sized bars.  The Honduras Rosewood is wood that we do not use on our Concert Series due to visible imperfections or grain structure.  However, Coe Percussion Practice Series marimba bars are tuned in the exact manner as our concert instruments and are of the finest quality of sound. The Practice marimbas can be upgraded at a later time to include resonators to make the instrument concert ready. The frame is made from White Oak for the wooden sections and stainless steel tubing for the metal base, all of which breaks down very compactly for transport.  The 5.0 octave practice marimba without resonators will fit into three duffle bags which are also available at additional cost.
