  • Four and One Third Octave Etude Marimba, Padouk wood Bars, Aluminum Resonators in your choice of color.  The top eight photos are of instruments with resonators color-matched to the padouk bars.  The bottom three photos are of an instrument with the traditional "gold" colored resonators.

 

The Coe Etude Series Marimbas offer the student musician an excellent alternative to higher priced instruments, while at the same time creating an investment for the future. The bars are made from South African Padouk wood or other suitable materials, and are FULL SIZED . Many other student or 'practice model' instruments do not have full sized bars. Additionally, the bars on many practice instruments are factory seconds which either do not have a long resonance time or have visible and/or audible imperfections. Coe Percussion Etude Series instrument bars are tuned in the exact manner as our concert instruments and are of the finest quality. The instruments include resonators made from aluminum tubing.  The frame is identical to our Concert Series marimbas, therefore the bars and resonators can be upgraded at a later time to easily convert the instrument into a Concert Series.  To upgrade all we would require is that you send back your Padouk bars and resonators and purchase our upgrade package which would include Honduras Rosewood bars and Brass or Aluminum tuneable resonators, whichever you would prefer.  Please email us for pricing information on these instruments and the upgrade packages.
