What's New?

(last updated May 11, 2008)

Not only do we build the instruments from scratch, but we also play them!  The Coe Percussion Group, our company ensemble, played at the Forest Capital Music and Arts Festival on Saturday May 10th in Perry, Florida.  Perry is known as the pine tree capital of the south.

The Coe Percussion Group consists of Austin Gomez, Jason Schmauch, and Matt Coe.  We play on a 5.0 octave Coe Concert Marimba, a 4.0 octave Coe Concert xylophone, and a Deagan Electravibe which was expertly refurbished by Coe Percussion, along with various other percussion instruments and a drum machine accompaniment.   All of our musical arrangements are done by Austin Gomez.  Here are a few pictures from our performance at the Forest Capital Music Fest:*Click thumbnails below for larger views

Leedy model 642 marimba, a 4.0 octave marimba which we extended down by fabricating the extra low bars and resonators to make it into a 4.3 octave.  We also fabricated a custom height adjustable frame and powdercoated all of the resonators black and completely re-finished and re-tuned original existing bars.*Click thumbnails below for larger views

Height adjustable field frames are available from us and are custom made to fit any brand of instrument you currently have.  These have large 'tire' casters, a height adjustment range of six inches using simple crank handles on each end of the instrument, and are absolutely rock solid.  You will have no problem taking this on the field or anywhere else for that matter.  You can also add on accessories (cymbals, drums, etc) directly to the frame.   See some pictures of a custom field frame we recently completed for a Yamaha instrument: (click thumbnail pics for larger versions)
